I’m excited to get everyone back. I think by the time Bjugstad and Rusty are back you can cue the trade rumors heating back up for Guds and/or JJ. |

Typical Russian contracts, once they get the homerun contract often whether it be the pressure or the change of scenery or the comfort zone of being set for life, whatever it is it happens often. - joegreif17

I thought I saw somewhere that the issue with Dumoulin was a cut on his wrist. So hopefully we get him, Bjugstad, and Rust back and it looks more like an NHL line-ups. |

They need to make a move before they get healthy to keep Marino up. Not enough roster space and waiving Riikola or Ruhwedel wouldn't clear enough cap space. |

Hold up...hold up ... I visited the comments section before reading the blog then just now read the blog. I've never heard of delta save % before...anyone care to explain?
EDIT: RW kind of explains it but how is totally quantified? |

I’m sure they will send Marino down first or does he have to go through waivers? |

I am curious about Florida's defense, though. Goalies don't win or lose games by themselves. A good goalie behind a bad defense is still going to lose lots of games. Likewise, a good defense can help a mediocre goalie win many games. Generally speaking the BJ's played a solid defense in front of him.
The funny thing about Bobrovsky is that he was probably one of if not the best Flyers goalie since Hextall but they got rid of him quickly (it remains to be seen how good Hart is). He was even the winning goalie in the first game at the new arena, unfortunately. The goalie situation there since has been amusing . |

It’s expected save percentage vs actual save percentage. It’s location based. Another way to show goals saved above average. |

No first year pros are always exempt from waivers. Even Palve can go up or down all year and he's 27.
A. Johnson just hit waiver eligibility (needed 6 games). Won't matter since he's on emergency recall, but if they wanted to bring him up permanently he'd have to clear, though that's probably not a problem. |

Since he's 5th on the depth chart, I think they'll be motivated to open a spot for Marino. |

I imagine they will all be sent back down once healthy and moves will he made to make room for Marino at the least. |

So RW ignores that Bob was average at best last season and that judging a small sample size from this season is stupid. Also anyone that knows anything about goalies knew that contract was horrible both in the short and long term. |

Don't wonder, they're bad. The hope was BOB would cover up for it and they'd score a lot. |

Most goalies are a rollercoaster. IMO what separates the best from the average to the worst is the severity of those peaks and valleys.
To me, Bob is the epitome of a Jeckyl and Hyde goalie. His peaks and valleys can be extreme, but what keeps him above average is his high points are super high. |

I can't wait to hear what Guddy has to say about the Pens after he gets traded yet again. |

Goalies are voodoo but nobody in their right mind would think a 31 year old coming off a poor year was going to be a savior. |

Beyond bad decision. Maybe the worst contract in league at the moment. |
